Program Elements

Technical Tours

Technical Tours provide participants the opportunity for experiential learning: tour land- and water-based sites and learn about the innovative methods and technology used to propel inland waterborne navigation successes. Separate registration and additional fees may be required.

All event speakers invited to present at Smart Rivers 2025 are recognized experts in their fields. As thought leaders in the inland navigational network, expect that they will bring fresh insights and new perspectives.

Guest Program

Registered participants can bring a guest at an added cost. Events covered under the accompanying guest program are Monday’s opening reception, the Wednesday evening social and one of the 2 technical tours available on Thursday afternoon.

Please note our cancellation policy: Requests for cancellations must be made in writing to the Organizing Committee at info@smartrivers2025.com by 1 August 2025. A $100 processing fee will apply. No cancellations will be accepted after 1 August, 2025 except under exceptional circumstances that must be approved by the Committee. Refunds will not be granted based on failure of visa application or cancellation of travel authorization. However, substitute delegates will be accepted upon approval. A fee of $100 will be applied if a new form of payment is required.
